Pass doors, breakaway bottom doors and safe-t-stop™ chain hoist Overview

Pass Doors

Pass doors are ideal in applications where space is too limited for the installation of a standard entry door. They conserve energy by allowing building access via a smaller opening versus the entire sectional door, this minimizes wear and tear on the door as well saves electric operator cycles. In inclement weather, the heat or cold distribution between inside and outside of the building is minimized, conserving additional energy costs.

  • Non-welded aluminum frame with shiplap design affords added strength and durability while providing a weather-tight door seal. Rain cap feature protects door entrance against accumulated water during rain showers.
  • Geared hinge ensures smooth operation and enhances longevity of the pass door.
  • Commercial door closer ensures safe and quiet closure.
  • Continuous boxed channel bottom rail adds additional strength against wind and horizontal deflection.

Break-Away Bottom Sections

Clopay’s Break-Away Bottom Section releases from the track and will swing up to a full 90 degree angle inward or 45 degrees outward, preventing further damage to the door.

  • Bottom section snaps back into place in less than a minute.
  • Inside of section has fiberglass protective panel to prevent damage to the door.
  • Commercial door closer ensures safe and quiet closure.
  • Optional inside slide lock provides additional security. Padlock may be applied.
  • Doors must have at least 36″ of high lift or full vertical lift track required.
  • Not compatible with door drop safety device/bottom brackets..
  • Not compatible with doors requiring a double torsion shaft
  • 1 Year Limited Construction warranty

Break-away bottom sections will release from the track and swing up to a full 45 degree angle inward or outward, preventing further damage to the door.

Safe-T-Stop™ Chain Hoist

The Safe-T-Stop is a controlled descent sectional door hand hoist with an integral braking system allowing users to operate the door with confidence. Unlike standard chain hoists that could allow the door to move out of control, with the Safe-T-Stop the door only moves when the user is actively pulling the chain reducing the risk of mishandling the door. When the chain is not actively pulled the brake engages keeping the door in place.

Enhanced Control:

  • Reduces the risk of mishandling the door
  • Reduces potential for the door to slam or chain to fly up

Ease of Use:

  • Brake engages when the chain is not actively pulled
  • Door stays in place when the chain is not engaged
  • Acts as a lock without the need for a chain keeper

Compact Design:

  • Brake is seamlessly integrated into the hoist mechanism
  • Requires only 3 ½” of side clearance
